Basketball

Nathan started basketball through the city, a junior warriors program (that's him in the back dribbling the ball). He LOVES it. It is a non-competitive league, meaning, they don't keep score at the games. However, our son came up to us afterwards and said, "We won. 22 to 10." We laughed and David said, "There's no score buddy, it's just for fun." Then Nathan sounding a bit irritated said, "NO, I was keeping score and WE WON, 22 to 10!" Then David under his breath laughing said to me, "That's right." In third grade he can start playing for CYO where we hear it's pretty competitive.
The boys have enjoyed hearing the stories of the basketball heroes in the family. Grandpa Babby, who earned a full-ride to Gonzaga on basketball. Auntie Denise, who traveled all the way to Japan for some championship game (I think that was it). Not to be forgotten, Auntie Kathy (my sister) who earned the title of "Most Improved Player" her freshman year. This totally ticked her off;)

Alexander has been enjoying basketball as well. We can't get him to forget about the score either. He's also keeping track of every basket he makes, whether during the game, practice, or warm-ups. I think we're up to 7 now, just a couple weeks in.
