Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving (our best one yet) and are very grateful for the blessings God has given us-- especially our children. And all of you--our family and friends. So come by for a visit! We'd love to see you and introduce you to our Patsy, she's a doll. God bless and Happy Thanksgiving!
3 Weeks Old
Patsy is 3 weeks old today! She's an absolute joy. She's also a night owl. Not difficult, just very awake at 2am and 4am. Not always that hungry, just likes to coo, look around and snuggle. So I have been up with her, enjoying it in my sleep haze, since this phase always goes by way too fast.
All 3 of my children were really good and happy babies. But Patsy has this aura or presence about her that just says... I'm a little lady. A certain daintiness and grace. I'm sure all Moms think that, but it's really true!;-) It is nice to be able to live in both worlds (not that I wouldn't be as annoyingly gushing over another baby boy), it's kind of like going through it for the first time again. New adventures.
Sweetie Pies
Here's B. boy chatting with his baby sister. The boys adore Patsy. They are really good with her and VERY protective. It boggles me a bit that the big brother instincts kick in already. But then again, as a sister of 3 brothers, I don' t why I'm surprised.
Poor Patsy, all the boys are probably going to be too scared to ask her to the prom someday. However, when she is an appropriate age, it will provide a nice stream of pre-approved suitors;)
Wakie-wakie
She's wide awake and flirting her way into Larry's heart. She still sleeps most of the day (not at night) but it's so fun when she's awake--so alert, smiles, and shows trepidation when her loving brothers coming running full speed ahead to give her big hugs and kisses! No wonder the third is so adaptable and perfect, they have to be ready for anything...can you tell I'm the third as well;)

2 Weeks Old!
Here she is, 2 weeks old and doing great! She is up to 7lbs 8 oz now. The wand next to her is important as it is a gift from her big brother. The day she was born my Dad took the boys to Super Franks and Nathan saved all his tickets and traded them in for a gift for his newborn sister. It was next to her bassinette when we got home. Such a good big brother:)

Uh-Oh!
So here's how it happend. How my 2.5 week old got sick. Nathan came home from school with a cold. David and I just looked at each other and said "Oh no, here we go." Even hough we went through the whole protocol about handwashing, no hands in the face, etc. Nathan proudly announced "Mommy, She's sucking my finger!" She had started crying and his instincts kicked in, I guess. So at 2 weeks poor wee thing has a cold:( Now, if I can keep her from getting a fever we should be able to avoid any further issues!

8 Years Later!
Today is the anniversary of our first date...yes we remember that day too. It's funny to think how things change. All we had to do then is have a great sushi dinner, stand up friends from YAG (can't be doing church activities when things are going so well;) and linger at the Huntington for hours while we really got to know each other (and the wine list). So as you can tell, it was a very good date and the rest is history!

1st Doctor's Appointment
David is demonstrating what a fine job Patsy is doing "tracking." Another interesting point of note is what strong legs she has. The doctor asked me if she did a lot of soccer playing with me in the womb, because she had some of the strongest legs he's ever seen on a newborn. So he put her on her stomach and sure enough, she would've pushed herself right off with those skinny little legs. NO leaving her for even a moment!
Little Lump-o-Luv
Here's a view of our first night home. There's nothing like relaxing and watching the tube, except watching the tube with the little bump of pink that just molds to your chest:) It's so nice having a newborn around again. I told David this is the smallest she'll ever be (she went down to 6 lbs. 8oz in the hospital), so we're doing lots of nursing and "kangaroo care" to get her weight back up.

Patricia has Arrived!
Patricia Marie Babby
"Patsy"
Born November 1, 2007 at 11:02 PM
7 lbs (exactly) 20 inces long
Her birthday is very meaningful to us since it's my mom's birthday as well, and she is named after her... so she is definitely heaven sent! Plus, I've never met anyone born on All Saint's Day that I didn't love :)
We're all very excited and she is doing great! Come visit we'd love to see you and you'll just love the little angel, we promise!
